The Maison presents an olfactory ode to oud

In the Middle East, a perfume is considered to possess the same alluring power as jewellery. While a beautiful necklace would enchant with its sparkle, a perfume does so with its scent; the latter is even used as a means to honour the presence of guests. To people for whom perfume is considered a &ldquo;spiritual complement&rdquo;, what could be a more prized object than a one-of-a-kind fragrance?

Enter Ombre Nomade, Louis Vuitton’s latest olfactory offering.

Paying homage to lovers of&nbsp;exceptional essences, Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud concocted the new fragrance with perhaps the rarest ingredient of them all: oud wood. The precious wood, which is more valuable than solid gold, was painstakingly sourced from a plantation in Bangladesh where it has been cultivated for centuries.

&nbsp;

The Ombre Nomade owes its strong leathery, spicy and woody accents to that special ingredient. The fragrance&rsquo;s fiery intensity is quelled by a soothing mixture of raspberry, rose, rosat geranium and benzoin &mdash; all of which is housed in a gorgeous bottle that bears a hot-stamped label in gold-finished metal.
