Another one bites the dust. Cyrus feels like a 'free woman' after splitting from Cody Simpson.

It&#39;s been a long year...&nbsp;it&#39;s&nbsp;safe to say 2020 hasn&#39;t been the best year so far. Relationships in the public eye leave little to the imagination and sadly, these aren&#39;t the first high profile splits Hollywood has witnessed (and they surely won&#39;t be the last). Between the short-lived&nbsp;and long-lived, romance and rivalry, we thought it was only necessary to round-up the celebrity breakups of the year that hurt the most.&nbsp;

It was announced earlier last week that the couple of 10 months had split,<a href="https://www.tmz.com/2020/08/13/miley-cyrus-and-cody-simpson-split-call-relationship-quits/"> sources </a>close to the couple said.&nbsp;

Miley Cyrus has since addressed her breakup with&nbsp;Cody Simpson on an Instagram Live to confirm the split.

&quot;Two halves can&#39;t make a whole and we&#39;re individually just working on ourselves to become the people that we wanna be, like everybody else at this age,&quot; the singer said. &quot;We are just deciding who we wanna be in our lives, what we wanna do&hellip; don&#39;t make it some drama story if next week we&#39;re hanging out, getting pizza. We&#39;ve been friends for ten years and we&#39;re going to continue to be friends, so just don&#39;t make it something that it is not.&quot;

The two began dating earlier last October following Cyrus&#39;s divorce from Liam Hemsworth and brief fling with Kaitlynn Carter.&nbsp;

Whilst dating, the two had gotten matching tattoos and were active presences in each other&#39;s social media accounts.&nbsp;

Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse

The Riverdale&nbsp;sweethearts have officially called it quits after a three-year relationship, and have since been quarantining separately during the coronavirus pandemic, according to sources. Sprouse, 27 and Reinhart, 23,&nbsp;began dating in 2017. They have been hit by numerous breakup rumours over the years, all of which they had&nbsp;denied.&nbsp;

But now, it looks like it&#39;s for real. The confirmation comes after Riverdale&nbsp;actor Skeet Ulrich&nbsp;hinted that they were done. This happened during an Instagram live with his girlfriend Megan Black Irwin, when someone asked he thought they&#39;re&nbsp;a cute couple. Skeet responded with, &quot;I think they were a very cute couple.&quot;

The couple started dating in 2018, and as their nearly two-year-long relationship has seen its ups and downs, sources confirmed the duo have finally decided to go their separate ways. Setting an example for exes everywhere, they seem to remain amicable. Delevingne released a statement on her Instagram defending Benson against harsh comments after being seen with rapper G-Eazy, &quot;To everyone hating on @ashleybenson please stop&quot;. Cara demanded privacy as she went on to state, &ldquo;You don&rsquo;t know the truth, only her and I do and that&#39;s exactly how it should be.&rdquo;&nbsp;

Divorces are messy, but a divorce during a global pandemic is all the more agonising. Co-founder of The Row and Olsen twin, Mary-Kate, has split from Olivier Sarkozy, French banker and half-brother to a former French president. The 33-year-old fashion royal has filed for divorce for reasons that are still unknown. However, due to New York courts closing because of the recent coronavirus outbreak, the couple&#39;s breakup has been halted. Olsen reportedly petitioned for an emergency separation, but after being denied she has been obligated to stay in the couple&rsquo;s Hamptons home for the duration of quarantine.&nbsp;

The&nbsp;duo announced their celebrity breakup the normal way... By deleting all photos of one another from their Instagram profiles. After months of publicising their relationship, they have finished off their romance with an undisguised &quot;unfollow&quot;.&nbsp;The actor and his model ex confirmed their relationship in November of 2019, but have decided to call it quits as of April 2020.&nbsp;
