Fans of the movie will be delighted to learn that the second part is in the works

Freaky Friday 2 is officially in the works! A new report has revealed plot details for the long-awaited upcoming film. More than twenty years later, the main characters, as played by actors Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, are set to reprise their respective roles in this body-swap comedy as a sequel to the 2003 Disney film.
In the original film, Lohan and Curtis played a mother-daughter duo who swapped bodies and adapted to each other's lives due to a curse. Newly leaked details of Freaky Friday 2 seem to suggest a mash-up of Freaky Friday and Lohan's other popular film, The Parent Trap. <a href="https://ew.com/freaky-friday-2-plot-details-lindsay-lohan-anna-daughter-8622872" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Entertainment Weekly</a> reports that the film will follow Harper, the 14-year-old daughter of&nbsp;Lohan's character Anna.

Harper is described as "a tomboy with a keen sense of humour [who] is in a bit of a bad mood these days because her long-single mother is about to marry British restaurateur Eric Davis". The outlet reports that "Eric also has a 14-year-old daughter, Lily, who doesn't see things the same way as Harper, even though their families are about to unite in marriage". It then appears that Harper will switch bodies with Anna, while Lily will switch bodies with Tess, played by Curtis.
The film's director has also been revealed, as confirmed by <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/freaky-friday-2-lindsay-lohan-jamie-lee-curtis-2-1235863059/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Hollywood Reporter</a>: Nisha Ganatra. Production is expected to begin this summer and filming will take place in Los Angeles.&nbsp;
