Following his work on the Capucines bag, Jonas Wood has teamed up with Louis Vuitton once again, this time for a textile collaboration

Louis Vuitton has tapped Los Angeles-based artist Jonas Wood for a new textile collection that explores the French house&rsquo;s signature products &ndash; the silk carr&eacute;, the shawl, and the stole. This marks the second time that Wood has worked with the brand, having reimagined the house&rsquo;s Capucines bag earlier this year. Wood brings his quintessential bold and vibrant aesthetic to the 11-piece collection, following in the footsteps of other collaborative artists like Takashi Murakami, Yayoi Kusama, <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/alex-israel-brings-a-pop-of-colour-to-his-louis-vuitton-textile-collaboration">Alex Israel</a>, and more.

Sports paraphernalia and botanical imagery are some of the motifs that recur across Wood&rsquo;s repertoire, and here they manifest in a reinterpretation of the iconic Louis Vuitton monogram. The LV initials are juxtaposed against a pattern of orange basketballs, yellow flowers, and ceramic pots (based on a creation by his wife, fellow artist Shio Kusaka), set on a background of sea blue or bright pink.

Wood&rsquo;s talent for graffiti-esque hand-lettering is showcased on two silk-and-wool shawls, rendered again in pink and blue. On one, the Louis Vuitton name is hand-drawn in red in a symmetrical pattern, and on the other it appears in graphic writing.

The artist is also known for his works of collage, and silk carr&eacute;s prove to be the ideal vehicle for this style. With a nod to Henri Matisse and David Hockney, two carr&eacute;s bloom with effervescent designs of plants and flowers, drawn from his Clippings series. The third carr&eacute; is double-sided, featuring the LV signature laid over a black and grey wallpaper pattern from his childhood, with a pink wood grain print on the reverse.

The collection is rounded out with a pink cotton-and-silk stole in the same wood grain theme, finished off with a hand-drawn Louis Vuitton name and Wood&rsquo;s personal signature.
