As every year, the world of fashion converges on the Mont&eacute;e des Marches for the Cannes Film Festival. This 77th edition, running from May 14 to May 25, is teeming with celebrities. Films in competition will premiere one after another at the Palais des Festivals et des Congr&egrave;s. The festival opens with two beloved artists: Meryl Streep, who is being honoured with the Palme d'Or for lifetime achievement, and <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/culture/greta-gerwig-barbie-reviews-barbenheimer-reaction-margot-robbie" title="Greta Gerwig Hasn't Read a Single 'Barbie' Review Yet" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Greta Gerwig</a>, the director of <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/culture/greta-gerwig-best-movies-to-watch-barbie-lady-bird-little-women-films-tv-shows" title="5 Greta Gerwig Movies to Watch After 'Barbie'" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Barbie</a>, who is serving as the president of this year's jury.
The first film to be screened is the French Le Deuxi&egrave;me Acte by Quentin Dupieux. Among the notable directors in competition, Francis Ford Coppola makes a long-awaited return to the Croisette with his new film Megalopolis. Yorgos Lanthimos, following the critical and public success of Poor Things, presents his latest work Kinds of Kindness. Representing Italy, Paolo Sorrentino competes with his film Parthenope.
On the festival's red carpet, a host of Hollywood stars will make appearances. Meet the &ldquo;First Ladies of the Eras Tour&rdquo;" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Barry Keoghan</a> is present with "Bird" by Andrea Arnold, and <a href="https://www.hommessingapore.com/style/jacob-elordi-saltburn-euphoria-elvis-why-he-loves-to-carry-designer-handbags" title="Jacob Elordi Reveals Why He Loves to Carry Designer Handbags" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jacob Elordi</a> stars in Paul Schrader's Oh, Canada, alongside Uma Thurman and Richard Gere.
