Christopher Bailey's latest collection for Burberry was a fitting tribute to the work and style of Britain's most prolific artist

For Burberry&#39;s second &quot;see-now buy-now&quot; collection, Christopher Bailey turned to Henry Moore &ndash; one of the most celebrated British artists of the 20th century, for inspiration. &ldquo;Henry Moore&rsquo;s art has always loomed large in my imagination: these great, iconic figures in the British landscape, elemental sculptures that manage also to be human, soft, approachable.&quot;

The February 2017 runway show was undoubtedly Bailey&#39;s&nbsp;most conceptual collection for Burberry yet: in his words, &quot;an exploration of sculpture and silhouette&quot;.&nbsp;On the runway, that translated to cable knits engineered to drape artfully off the shoulder,&nbsp;crisp poplin shirting layered with soutache lace dresses, and&nbsp;trenchcoats reconfigured with sculptural shoulders. Even the accessories &ndash;&nbsp;asymmetric leather brogues and&nbsp;sculpted-heel knitted ankle boots &ndash;&nbsp;sported an architectural slant, seamlessly&nbsp;melding&nbsp;the contradictions in Moore&rsquo;s work&nbsp;with the timelessless of the Burberry brand.&nbsp;
