The parent company of Versace, Jimmy Choo, and Michael Kors will split donations across the U.K., U.S., and Italy

<a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/michael-kors-holdings-acquires-versace-is-now-capri-holdings">Capri Holdings</a> &ndash; the parent company of Versace, Jimmy Choo, and Michael Kors &ndash; joins the <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/coronavirus-luxury-donations">long list of fashion houses and luxury conglomerates</a> helping to combat the coronavirus crisis. Yesterday, the group announced that together its three brands will donate over $3 million to support COVID-19 relief efforts, with a personal donation of $1 million by Capri Holdings&rsquo; founder Michael Kors and chairman and CEO John D. Idol.

&ldquo;Our hearts and souls go out to those who are working on the front lines to help the world combat the COVID-19 pandemic,&rdquo; explained John Idol. &ldquo;We thank them for their remarkable dedication and courage and want to support them and the hospitals where they work. We also aim to strengthen organisations dedicated to helping the community.&rdquo;

New York-based brand Michael Kors will divide its $2 million donation between a few recipients: NYU Langone Health medical centre and New York-Presbyterian Hospital, to support emergency patient care, mobilise clinical and diagnostic research, and alleviate the financial burdens of frontline staff; non-profit organisation God&rsquo;s Love We Deliver, which delivers meals to the city&rsquo;s most vulnerable individuals across five boroughs; and A Common Thread, the relief fund for small fashion businesses affected by the pandemic.

Following its <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/versace-giorgio-armani-and-bulgari-donate-millions-of-dollars-to-fight-the-coronavirus">earlier donation</a> of $1 million to the Chinese Red Cross Foundation, <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/versace-fall-2020-was-a-supermodel-studded-optical-illusion">Versace</a> pledges an additional $500,000 towards relief efforts in Italy, as the virus continues to rage across the country. Milan&rsquo;s San Raffaele Hospital will receive $400,000 towards the provision of critical aid for patients in the intensive care unit, and the rest will go to the Camera Nazionale Della Moda Italiana and its &ldquo;Italia, we are with you&rdquo; initiative, which funds ventilators and medical equipment for healthcare facilities in Italy. &nbsp;

<a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/when-everything-is-a-highlight-jimmy-choo-x-yk-jeong">Jimmy Choo</a>, meanwhile, dedicates $500,000 to response efforts both in the United Kingdom and worldwide. Half of that sum will be donated to the NHS, and the other half to the WHO&rsquo;s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

As Idol so eloquently put it, &ldquo;This is clearly a time for people to come together in every way and on every level, because we are all stronger in our united resolve.&rdquo;
