This is the first win for Coach's Executive Creative Director

&nbsp;

After four years at the helm of Coach, Stuart Vevers was named&nbsp;the&nbsp;2017 Accessory Designer of the Year&nbsp;at this year&#39;s Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA)&nbsp;Fashion Awards.

The British-born Vevers is a key&nbsp;player in the accessories industry, having taken on lead design roles&nbsp;at&nbsp;Bottega Veneta, Givenchy,&nbsp;Louis Vuitton, Mulberry, and Loewe. Since joining Coach in 2013 as Executive Creative Director, he&nbsp;has radically transformed and reimagined the 75-year-old&nbsp;American heritage label for the 21st century. Some of his triumphs include introducing the Coach 1941&nbsp;ready-to-wear collection, high-profile tie-ups with the likes of Selena Gomez,&nbsp;and bringing Coach&#39;s leather goods to the forefront of the fashion zeitgeist.&nbsp;

The CFDA Fashion Awards is an annual affair that&nbsp;recognises the outstanding contributions made to American fashion in womenswear, menswear, and accessories.&nbsp;Held earlier this week at&nbsp;the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, this year&#39;s award winners&nbsp;also include Womenswear Designer of the Year and Menswear Designer of the Year Raf Simons for Calvin Klein and Monse duo&nbsp;Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, who walked away with the&nbsp;Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent.&nbsp;
