The official NYFW 2020 schedule is here - with some notable changes.

The year 2020 is, without a doubt, reinventing the wheel for fashion. As we grapple with the ongoing coronavirus, <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/redefining-fashion-week-how-to-watch-the-upcoming-fashion-shows-online">fashion capitals are coming forward with different solutions for fashion week</a>, where<a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/is-the-future-of-fashion-week-digital-fashion-capitals-announce-digital-fashion-week"> Milan, Paris and London announced digital fashion week schedules</a>.&nbsp;And as brands have been marred by the inevitable sales declines and&nbsp;supply-chain slowdowns, it is a signal&nbsp;now more than ever that it will not be business as usual.

But if you are missing the runways, here&#39;s some news for you: New York Fashion Week has just been given the green light by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to take place&nbsp;from September 13 to 17, amidst the ongoing pandamic - with a slew of protective measures in place. This comes after a physical Copenhagen Fashion Week event, which marked the return of catwalk.

&quot;New York is the fashion capital of the world and New York Fashion Week celebrates the ingenuity of this city and our unrivaled creative talent,&quot; says Cuomo in an official statement. &ldquo;When COVID-19 arrived in New York, many of our treasured events were forced to be canceled or postponed. The pandemic is far from over, but we are proud to support the IMG event organizer in moving forward with the NYFW, in compliance with the restrictions of the state public health guidance. &rdquo;

New York Fashion Week,&nbsp;which will occur for five days, will undergo a major overhaul with several security measures. Firstly, outdoor events will be capped at 50 people, with indoor half of that capacity, according to the governer&#39;s announcements. Indoor events will also not hold any spectators - so you can forget about that much coveted front-row seat!

This year&#39;s schedule will also rely more virtual livestreaming and online programmes, where all of the presentations of the CFDA&#39;s official lineup will be digital - starting with Jason Wu on Sunday, and ending with Tom Ford on Wednesday.

However, not all designers will be showing this fashion week. The original schedule, which was released earlier in February, listed 177 labels on the NYFW calendar. The current list stands at 60. This includes Marchesa, Eckhaus Latta, Carolina Herrera, and Anna Sui. Brands such as Micheal Kors, Proenza Schouler, Brandon Maxwell and Prabal Gurung have sat out of this calender.
