Ex-Céline designer Daniel Lee proposes a new vision of luxury for the Italian brand through a series of Tyrone Lebon-lensed images.

Spring is a season of new beginnings, and that&#39;s&nbsp;certainly being reflected at a handful of fashion houses. <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/riccardo-tisci-first-burberry-campaign-spring-2019">Burberry</a>, <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/virgil-abloh-first-louis-vuitton-campaign-spring-summer-2019">Louis Vuitton</a> and <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/kate-spade-spring-2019-campaign-tim-walker-julia-garner-kiki-layne-sadie-sink">Kate Spade</a> have all unveiled the debut campaigns of their respective, newly-anointed Creative Directors. Now,&nbsp;Bottega Veneta gets its turn to do so with its Spring 2019 campaign, the first by&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/daniel-lee-replaces-tomas-maier-at-bottega-veneta">Daniel Lee</a>.

Lensed by&nbsp;Frank Ocean collaborator Tyrone Lebon, the campaign presents the&nbsp;ex-C&eacute;line designer&#39;s&nbsp;refreshingly&nbsp;unpretentious&nbsp;vision&nbsp;for Bottega Veneta. Just like how his <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion-week/bottega-veneta-pre-fall-2019-collection-by-daniel-lee">debut collection</a>&nbsp;was inspired by Italian women, Lee once again nods to the brand&#39;s cultural heritage by taking cues from Italian neorealist cinema.

The resulting images are hyperrealistic.&nbsp;The campaign wasn&#39;t&nbsp;staged within elaborate sets, but instead&nbsp;shot on location on the Neapolitan island,&nbsp;Ischia.&nbsp;Nor do&nbsp;the models wear any fanciful makeup or flaunt over-the-top styling. In fact, in&nbsp;a couple of shots&nbsp;that aren&#39;t shared for the following reason, they&#39;re hardly wearing anything at all, save for a nude-toned shoe or a leather trench coat.

Which is&nbsp;pretty much the point: the luxury of the clothes&nbsp;&mdash; a finely knitted tank top, an intrecciato woven leather Maxi Cabat bag &mdash; is supposed to speak for itself. Framing them&nbsp;within mundane (but no less inspiring) settings also emphasizes Lee&#39;s desire to form&nbsp;a timeless, everday Bottega Veneta wardrobe with his&nbsp;creations. By the looks of the campaign, we&#39;re convinced that&nbsp;he&#39;ll&nbsp;succeed.&nbsp;

The next glimpse we&#39;ll get of Lee&#39;s offerings will be in February, when he showcases Bottega Veneta&#39;s&nbsp;Fall/Winter 2019 show at Milan Fashion Week. Until then, be drawn in by the&nbsp;quiet allure of the brand&#39;s&nbsp;Spring 2019&nbsp;campaign.
