In honour of Mother&rsquo;s Day, Jessica Wang gets vulnerable with L&rsquo;Officiel Singapore about what motherhood means to her.&nbsp;

Amassing over 1.7 million followers on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/jessicawang/">Instagram</a> and even more on <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@jessicawangofficial">TikTok</a>, entrepreneur and fashion creator Jessica Wang has taken motherhood by storm despite her busy schedule. Mother to daughters Hazel and Capri, Wang has introduced her girls to the world of luxury fashion via complementary styles and matching purses from Houses Fendi, Michael Kors, and more, gaining the trio the attention of fashion enthusiasts everywhere.
In an exclusive interview with L&rsquo;Officiel Singapore, we talk to the mother of two about her unique bond with her daughters, her personal growth since becoming a mother, and what Mother&rsquo;s Day means to her.&nbsp;

Tell us about your bond with your daughters.&nbsp;
The first word that comes to mind is unbreakable. Mother-daughter bonds are so unique and special that they truly are hard to describe. As my girls start to become older, we constantly bond over so many new things. Whether it be on what outfit to wear for a playdate or how to speak up in class, Hazel and Capri know that they can come to me at any time. I believe that communication is key with any child, and an essential tool for building a healthy relationship.&nbsp;
What are some of the traits your daughters have inherited from you?&nbsp;
Hazel and Capri have taken a page out of my book and inherited my style. They aren&rsquo;t afraid to play with colours or to mix and match. Capri, despite only being six years old, is so intuitive and such an empath. She is able to read the room and is her sister&rsquo;s number one fan. She would be ready to stand up for Hazel on any occasion, which I think is a trait that she got from her momma-bear. Hazel is so curious and creative; her biggest passion is drawing manga. I&rsquo;m always so fascinated with how talented she is.&nbsp;

You often feature Hazel and Capri on your Instagram page and many of your followers have called them your &ldquo;mini-me&rsquo;s&rdquo;. What do your daughters think about that?&nbsp;
My daughters definitely don&rsquo;t shy away from the camera! I would never push them to do anything that they were not comfortable with. My followers are big fans of my girls and constantly want to see more of them, which of course Hazel and Capri find flattering. One of the best things about being a mom to two little girls is the mini-me aspect because we love to play around with outfits. They adore being my stylists and re-creating similar outfits to match me.&nbsp;
What&rsquo;s your favourite thing about being a mother?&nbsp;
I&rsquo;m constantly in awe of how much my love grows every day for my girls; everything I do is to make my children proud. Of course, sometimes travelling can take a toll on me and the shoots can be long, but when I come home and they come running with smiles and hugging me with their small hands wrapped around my waist, it's all worth it. So, I would say that one of my favourite things about being a parent is the unconditional love I receive from them. Even simple gestures from them, like their little laughs, can turn my day around.&nbsp;

How would you describe your parenting style as compared to your husband&rsquo;s?&nbsp;
My husband is definitely more laid back, and likes to play the &ldquo;good cop&rdquo;. However, when it comes time to tell the girls no, he likes to redirect to mommy. We are not super strict with the kids but when it comes to important matters, we definitely get on the same page and put our foot down.&nbsp;
Have you learned anything new since embarking on your journey with motherhood? Have your priorities shifted?&nbsp;
Before having children, the world is your oyster and everything revolves around you. Of course, when you have kids your priorities shift and your world revolves around them. Since becoming a mother, I&rsquo;ve managed to push my limits and juggle so many things at the same time. As a parent you never stop learning things about yourself, for example, I didn&rsquo;t think that I could be so patient but so worried at the same time. As your children grow, their little personalities continue to develop and flourish, so it&rsquo;s constantly a learning experience as every day can be a new challenge.&nbsp;

Is there anything you hope to give your children that you yourself did not receive as a child?&nbsp;
I left China when I was quite young and I didn&rsquo;t speak too much English, so my first experience in the United States made me feel a little bit like an outsider. It took me years to feel like I truly belonged in my new home. My girls, of course, have had a totally different experience and upbringing than mine.&nbsp;
The US is much more inclusive and open-minded than it was when I first moved here, so their experience is undoubtedly different from my own. We also live in a day and age where pursuing your dreams and branching out from stereotypical jobs is possible. I will forever encourage them to pursue their passions. I hope that they look at my career journey as an example that following your dreams and goals will lead to the best outcome.&nbsp;
Lastly, why is Mother&rsquo;s Day special to you?&nbsp;
Women truly are a force of nature with endless qualities and facets. Mother&rsquo;s Day is an occasion to express one&rsquo;s respect, love and admiration for moms who truly do so much for their children. Also, who doesn&rsquo;t love to receive unlimited amounts of hugs, kisses and praise from their kids!
