The Fall/Winter 2023 runways were memorable, to say the least. For one, Mugler and Marc Jacobs returned to the runway, two labels that were sorely missed during their absence. We saw risqu&eacute; leather looks, sheer tulle fabrics had their moment, and eccentric shoes&mdash;made of anything from fur to colourful felt&mdash; were a common sight on the runways. Elaborate updos and bold eyeshadow looks frequented the catwalks, and bleached brows were featured more times than we could count. However, beyond the garments, makeup, and hair are the core colours that tie all of these unique looks together.&nbsp;

Metallics are in this season, there's no doubt about it. We saw gold and colourful metallic tones in abundance, but reigning above the others was silver. You've likely already seen your fair share of silver this season, on anything from ballet flats to leather pants, but first, this look was dominant on the Fall/Winter 2023 runways. It was showcased in a myriad of ways, from Paco Rabanne's glitzy chainmail-inspired dress to Coach's shimmery leather ensemble.&nbsp;

Red tones are a classic staple of fall and winter colour trends, but cherry red has come out in full force this year in particular. This bright hue was present on the runways in just about any way imaginable&mdash;tights, scarves, skirts, jackets, and the list goes on. After a three-year hiatus, Mugler returned to the runway back and brighter than ever, showing off the popular hue in a flowing, lacy ensemble. Other cherry red looks we loved included Bally's patent red leather jacket and Ferragamo's structured power suit.&nbsp;

Traditionally, pastel tones are more commonly seen in the spring season, but the many ranging shades of yellow seen on the Fall/Winter 2023 runways say otherwise. Mixed among chic all-black ensembles, dark grey tweed sets, and chocolate-brown leather coats were various tones of butter yellow. This unexpected winter colour was a sight for sore eyes on the runways, appearing in the form of a long, wool overcoat and corduroy pants combo by Etro and Rodarte's brighter take on the muted hue in a lengthy knitted dress.&nbsp;

Deep, regal plum purple was another winter colour we saw time and time again on the runways. While it primarily came in the form of luxurious-looking outerwear, like Lanvin and Burberry's lavish coats, it was also frequently spotted in the form of leather pumps or lavish handbags. If you're looking for a darker shade to sport this season, why not try out plum purple?

As a true neutral, grey always has a place on the runway, but this season more than ever, we spotted this light pebble grey tone on the Fall/Winter 2023 runways. Also representing the classic jewel tones this season alongside deep purple is emerald green. This classic winter colour was a hit on the runways and was featured in looks like Michael Kors' monochromatic sumptuous fur coat outfit and Dior's preppy plaid sweater style.&nbsp;
