On the accessories front at Bottega Veneta this season, new bag shapes first seen in the Pre-Fall 2019 collection get a miniature makeover with more compact dimensions

There was a lot of buzz surrounding Bottega Veneta&rsquo;s Fall 2019 show, and understandably so. Fall marked the first show by Daniel Lee for the luxury house, just months after the low-key British designer was appointed creative director. There were some who expected the Celine alum to go down Phoebe Philo&rsquo;s path, but Lee bucked expectations and delivered instead a collection well rooted in the brand&rsquo;s heritage and house codes.

Lee experimented extensively with leather for the collection, paying tribute to the material that has been the bedrock of the Italian house for more than half a century. Following on from the success of the now-iconic Pouch, two new bags made their runway debut. Shapes that were first seen in the Pre-Fall 2019 collection were given the &lsquo;Honey, I Shrunk The Kids&rsquo; treatment for the season, with the result being the Mini BV Classic and Small BV Angle. With elegant silhouettes and compact proportions, these bags promise to be your new must-haves

The Mini BV Classic takes shape as a boxy flap bag with a slim shoulder strap, which can be removed to transform it into an evening clutch. A spherical clasp inspired by Milanese architecture sets the bag apart with an uncommon touch, while a glossy Spazzolatto Calf finishing on either nude, red, or nero gives the style both texture and depth.

Designed like an elongated trapezoid, the Small BV Angle showcases a soft, foldable geometric structure with a clever system of hidden magnets. The bag comes in textured Palmellato Calf leather in colourways of plaster, deep blue, and nero with a velvety suede interior, polished off with a triangular closure engraved in the Art Deco style.
