The London-based independent eyewear brand For Art&rsquo;s Sake (<a href="https://www.instagram.com/forartssake/?hl=en">@forartssake</a>) has had some high tides since its conception in 2016 under the creative helm of Xiwen Zhang (<a href="https://www.instagram.com/xiwen_fas/?hl=en">@xiwen_fas</a>). Who&rsquo;s the designer?

The mind behind For Art&rsquo;s Sake, co-founder Xiwen Zhang was set on becoming an art dealer,&nbsp;until an epiphany struck while she was on holiday &mdash; she went shopping for sunglasses but couldn&rsquo;t seem to find anything at a reasonable price point that spoke to her taste.

We could say that entrepreneurship was meant for her. Zhang was featured on <a href="https://www.forbes.com/30-under-30/2019/#2d4e121e63b0">the 2019 Forbes 30 under 30 list</a> &mdash;&nbsp;a compilation of young, rising disruptors who are transforming their respective industries.

What does the brand focus on?&nbsp;

Zhang, along with her partner Yannis Makridis, sees a gap in the market of affordable luxury. They are coming into the business with keen eyes, attempting to break the mould, and offering innovative silhouettes with their range of handcrafted sunglasses and opticals.

The brand has a way of pushing the boundaries, turning classic styles like the cat-eye and aviator into delectable eye candies by injecting each piece with new life. Its ongoing experimentation with&nbsp;metalwork and colour palettes encourages us to own our unique and diverse personalities.
