Bye Bye Milan: Gucci Will Join Paris Fashion Week For Spring/Summer 2019
All roads lead to France. After presenting its Cruise 2019 collection in the city of Arles — which will take place on 30 May — Gucci has announced that it will exchange Milan for Paris and show its Spring/Summer 2019 collection at Paris Fashion Week.
The Italian label, led by creative director Alessandro Michele, has been paying homage to the country since its Pre-Fall 2018 campaign, which was inspired by the protests of French students in the late 1960s. After its resort show in an ancient cemetery known as the Promenade Des Alyscamps in Arles, the label will prepare to present its Spring/Summer 2019 show on September 24 — the date on the fashion calendar that is right between the Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks.
The news follows a series of changes in fashion weeks, including the New York Fashion Week's new dates from 3 to 7 June. Gucci will return to Milan Fashion Week for the Fall/Winter season, which takes place in February 2019.
