The Japanese tennis champion makes her debut in Nicolas Ghesquiere’s upcoming Spring 2021 campaign.

Japanese tennis champion Naomi Osaka has been named Louis Vuitton&rsquo;s global brand ambassador.

This adds to the list of the 23-year-old&rsquo;s many accolades: Sportsperson of the Year by Sports Illustrated, the highest paid female athlete of all time, according to Forbes, and one of Time Magazine&rsquo;s 100 Most Influential People.

The news comes as part of Louis Vuitton&rsquo;s Spring 2021 campaign, photographed by artistic director Nicolas Ghesquire.&nbsp;

&rdquo;Aside from tennis, my most treasured passion is fashion; and there is no brand more iconic than Louis Vuitton. It is such an honour to work with Nicolas - he&rsquo;s a designer I admire so much and we share a mutual love of Japanese culture and style. To become global brand ambassador is truly a dream come true for me,&rdquo; says Naomi Osaka in a press statement.

Similarly, Ghesqui&egrave;re comes&nbsp;full of praises for Naomi: &ldquo;Naomi is an exceptional woman who represents her generation and is also a role model for everyone. Born in Japan to a Haitian father and Japanese mother, Osaka moved to the United States at the age of three and has since quickly established herself as a global icon. Since&nbsp;becoming a professional tennis player in 2013, she has become the first Asian player to hold the No. 1 running in the Tennis singles and the first Japanese player to win a Grand Slam.

Osaka is also increasingly vocal about social activism. Off the tennis court, Naomi has turned to fashion to pay tribute to her Japanese heritage at ADEAM&rsquo;s Fall 2020 runway show during New York Fashion Week and pays tribute to her Haitian heritage in her everyday looks on social media.
