The fashion legend will take his final bow on 22 January with his last ever haute couture show

<p style="text-align:justify">Jean-Paul Gaultier has announced his retirement after a highly-prolific, decades-long career in fashion.&nbsp;The 67-year-old French designer took to Twitter and Instagram last Friday to reveal that his upcoming haute couture presentation&nbsp;on 22 January 2020 will be his last. Scheduled to take place at the Th&eacute;atre du Ch&acirc;telet in Paris, the show will celebrate 50 years of fashion&#39;s enfant terrible, known and loved&nbsp;for his provocative style and fearlessness in subverting industry norms.&nbsp;</p>


<p style="text-align:justify">Gaultier learned his trade under the tutelage of Pierre Cardin, and showed his first collection in 1976, before establishing his own fashion house in 1982. He took a step back from ready-to-wear a few years ago in order to focus on his lucrative haute couture line, as well as his creative work in the fields of theatre and cinema. For many, he is perhaps best known as the man responsible for the iconic <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/get-waist-ed-the-corset-makes-a-comeback">conical bra</a> look that <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/Culture/madonna-has-always-been-a-fighter">Madonna</a> wore for her <em>Blond Ambition</em> World Tour in the 1990s.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Still, the designer has assured fans that &quot;Gaultier Paris will go on&quot;, citing in his sweet video on social media, &quot;I have a new concept, I&#39;ll tell you about it later, all the little secrets. To be continued.&quot;</p>
