Directing her own music videos, designing her own line of merchandise, designing artworks, and rebelling against&nbsp;the idea of following trends, Uchis loves taking artistic control (if it&#39;s not obvious enough).

When she said &#39;Be unique and live your own life&#39;&nbsp;in an interview with Vogue, she wasn&#39;t lying - just take a look at her Instagram. Whether it&#39;s an all-cheetah print outfit while drinking a martini&nbsp;or wearing a&nbsp;pearl-covered bra, necklace, skirt, and armband set, the 24-year-old is here to prove that she is&nbsp;to be taken seriously when it comes to style.

Uchis is a huge&nbsp;fan of taking fashion inspiration from past eras,&nbsp;evident in her penchant for vintage Dior monogram pieces, which were very popular back in the 90s. For those who&nbsp;like to wear pink on a Wednesday, Kali Uchis in an all-pink Dior monogram outfit&nbsp;should serve as an inspiration. Always one to put her spin on a look, part from major fashion houses, Kali customised her black outfit by wearing&nbsp;a gold belt&nbsp;that spelt out her last name in large letters.&nbsp;

Selena Quintanilla-Perez is one of Uchis&#39;&nbsp;many icons, so it comes as&nbsp;no surprise that she performed at the recent Selena for Sanctuary benefit in NYC, a fundraising concert series that champions&nbsp;immigrant rights advocacy. What&#39;s just as cool as the social cause is Uchis&#39;&nbsp;custom-made outfit for her performance. Designer Patrick Church presented his&nbsp;signature hand-painted figurative drawings, along with Uchis&rsquo;&nbsp;own political messaging: no cages, no human being is illegal, no prisons, and no borders. The matching bra and pants set couldn&#39;t be more timely.

There seems&nbsp;to be a pattern when it comes to Uchis&#39;&nbsp;closet: matching pieces in different hues. From&nbsp;magenta blazer co-ords to a pink slip dress with a matching&nbsp;turtleneck, the artist is a big fan of monotone dressing. A favourite of ours is the yellow bodycon dress featured in her &#39;After The Storm&#39; music video from her &#39;Isolation&#39; album. Paired with yellow tights and yellow slingback heels, Uchis is as extra as it gets. Her style is definitely like her music - vibrant, experimental, and unconventional.
