Arctic wilderness meets urban sensibility in this season's Kenzo collection by Humberto Leon and Carol Lim.

Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, the eco-warriors?

For their sixth year at Kenzo, the pair explored&nbsp;the iconic Parisian label through an eco-centric lens&nbsp;with the aim to &quot;provoke discussion about Earth&#39;s pressing issues&quot;. The point of inspiration for Fall/Winter 2017-2018 was arctic surfing &ndash; resulting in a collection that&nbsp;combined&nbsp;the polar&nbsp;wilderness with an urban sensibility.

Leon and Lim sent out the men&rsquo;s collection in full, followed by the women&rsquo;s: a progression of colourful peplum parkas, shrunken ski gear, intricate knits with&nbsp;aurora borealis dip-dyed patterns, and flight suits in vibrant hues of&nbsp;winter blues and raincoat yellows. And true to Kenzo&#39;s DNA, playful prints were aplenty: &quot;geo tiger&quot; patterns, checks,&nbsp;argyles, and punchy Hawaiian florals. In a nutshell, it was a bold and&nbsp;ballsy showing that decisively pushed past the tired tropes of&nbsp;activewear into the realm of dressing for the future.
