The worlds of fashion and art collide in this month's issue of L'Officiel Singapore

The link between fashion and art is inextricable. Elmgreen &amp; Dragset who created a&nbsp;site-specific Prada Marfa sculpture in the desert, and&nbsp;Tom Sachs who&nbsp;branded weaponry with &quot;Chanel&quot; are just some of the many artists who have turned to fashion as a source of inspiration and social commentary. The converse is also true: fashion has a history of borrowing from art just the same.

In this issue, we take you through a tour of Spring/Summer 2017&rsquo;s most artful pieces, selected according to some of history&rsquo;s most notable art movements; show you how form sublimates function in a juxtaposition of contemporary accessories and furniture; and take you behind the closed doors of Dior&rsquo;s atelier to witness the detailed magic of Maria Grazia Chiuri&rsquo;s fantastical creations. Our fashion spreads by Stefano Moro Van Wick, Chuck Reyes and Marcus Sch&auml;fer are a virtual gallery of that confluence between fashion and art, taking you beyond the superficiality of clothing into the realm that blends body, garment and space.

Our cover model Dais Huisman rocks Chanel in an edgy, artful way; Karl Lagerfeld brings back the cool of the classic ’90s tweed work suit by giving its silhouette a boxier update.

Taking the lead in Bijoux are extraordinary gemstones and exquisite parures as well as timepieces that turn to the woods for artistic inspiration. In Beauty, the whisper of lush reefs and shimmering scales give glowing skin and coral highlights a surreal twist. We also get graphic with the season&rsquo;s spiciest shade of scarlet.

A new series entitled Lunch with L&rsquo;Off kicks off in this issue. The concept: L&rsquo;Off Squad meets high fashion meets fine food. In this issue, we host Rosalyn Lee and Tan Min-Li &ndash; dressed in Spring/Summer 2017 for lunch at Jaan to savour its new Spring menu. We also catch Maria Elena Rudolf, Vice President of Art Stage Singapore, and her daughter Coco amid the thought-provoking offerings at the contemporary art fair&rsquo;s seventh instalment, where they let us in on artful family values.

London-based artist Marcus Schäfer utilises the rooms of the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, one of the most renowned art schools in Germany, to capture an art-driven fashion story.
