Pico Performance: Fendi Introduces The Ultra-Mini Pico Baguette

First there was the Baguette, then the Mini Baguette, then the Nano Baguette, and now, Fendi welcomes the tiniest (and we mean teeny tiny) member to the family: the Pico Baguette. The smallest bag the luxury house has ever made, the Pico clocks in at a mere 4cm x 4cm, petite enough to fit in the palm of your hand.

Each itty bitty piece is woven from macro or micro beads, in high wattage hues ranging from bubblegum pink to Fendi yellow. Some have stripes, some have fringe, and some have both, but all are clasped with the brand’s distinctive double-F buckle.

Threaded on a long chain, the Pico can be slung across the body, worn as a fun necklace or bracelet, or attached to your regular bag as a charm. Either way, this sure-fire style statement will pack a hefty punch. What’s more, the Pico isn’t nearly as impractical as it seems, able to hold AirPods, lip gloss, loose change, and a mini hand sanitiser (essential nowadays), although probably not all at once.

But if you’re of the opinion that bigger is better, fear not, because Fendi’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection has options to suit any mood or taste. Slightly more capacious but just as cute (and chic), the Nano Baguette returns this season in woven beige raffia, finished with bright yellow leather edges and a gold-tone FF clasp.

And for a full-on, full-sized Fendi experience, there’s the Baguette belt bag, which comes in a groovy ‘70s-esque floral print and, despite its name, can also be carried over the shoulder or cross-body. Not to mention an especially eye-catching edition in green monogram jacquard, overlaid with multi-coloured flowers, and festooned with white macramé fringe.
