The Italian brand vows to stop using animal fur, starting with its Spring/Summer 2020 collection.

It looks like the domino effect of fashion&#39;s fur-free movement is still in place, because it has just earned itself a new member in fashion powerhouse, <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/jewellery/stay-gold-with-prada-s-fine-jewellery-collection">Prada</a>. In collaboration with the Fur Free Alliance (FFA), which comprises 50 animal protection organizations in over 40 countries,&nbsp;the Prada Group&nbsp;has announced&nbsp;that it will no longer use animal fur in its future products.

The new policy applies to all of the brands under the&nbsp;Prada Group, including Italian fashion labels Prada and <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/miu-miu-spring-2019-campaign-by-david-sims-starring-lourdes-leon">Miu Miu</a>. It&nbsp;will be in effect starting from the brands&#39;&nbsp;Spring/Summer 2020 Women&#39;s collections, while&nbsp;remaining fur products will be sold until quantities are exhausted. Additionally, both brands&nbsp;will continue to use leather in future collections.&nbsp;

In a statement, Miuccia Prada shared, &quot;Focusing on innovative materials will allow the company to explore new boundaries of creative design while meeting the demand for ethical products.&quot;&nbsp;

In the past year, several&nbsp;other brands have gone fur-free to meet that same demand, such as Gucci, <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/versace-goes-fur-free">Versace</a> and Burberry. Other brands like <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/chanel-to-stop-using-exotic-skins-fur">Chanel</a>&nbsp;chose to abandon the use of exotic skins instead. Having Prada, one of fashion&#39;s biggest names, join them is certainly a big bonus to the sustainability movement, and will hopefully cause a ripple effect on a global scale.&nbsp;
