The Matelassé Monochrome Celine is the New It Bag
As seen on Blackpink’s Lisa and model Kaia Gerber, the graphically-quilted bag is a must-have this season.
First debuted on the runway of Celine’s Dans Paris Winter 2022 Collection, the Matelassé Monochrome is the latest addition to the house's line of iconic bags. Joining the likes of the Triomphe, the Classic and the 16, the bag is already making waves amongst celebs.
House Ambassador Lisa from Blackpink, who first walked this bag down the runway earlier this year, was seen casually sporting it again in an Instagram post, sipping on some bubble tea. Model Kaia Gerber was also spotted with the Matelassé Monochrome whilst holidaying in Paris.
And it’s no wonder why the bag is garnering all this attention. Made in black and nude, the graphically-shaped goatskin quilting makes for a luxurious feel while keeping the structure of the shoulder bag unique. The gold Celine lettering instantaneously adds some oomph to the bag. With an oversized chain belt, the bag can also be transformed into a cross-body or long-shoulder carry bag.
This collection’s iteration is the first of many for the Matelassé Monochrome from Hedi Slimane. The two classic versions for winter this year are surely ones to get your hands on. And if you’re a devoted Celine collector, it should be all eyes on deck for the latest it bag.
