As part of Onitsuka Tiger’s year-long celebrations, Kathleen Kye of KYE has collaborated with the Japanese label on a special capsule collection

Onitsuka Tiger turns 70 this year, and in celebration of this landmark anniversary, the performance-turned-lifestyle brand has embarked on a <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/onitsuka-tiger-celebrates-70th-anniversary">year-long collaboration project</a> with 7 up-and-coming Asian designers. The latest to team up with the sportswear expert is Korean brand KYE, marking the 5th chapter of the initiative.

Founded by Central Saint Martins graduate Kathleen Kye, her eponymous line offers up a feminine and edgy take on urban streetwear. &ldquo;KYE is all about casual wear, fun, a bit rude, it&rsquo;s unisex, but more focused on women,&rdquo; Kye has said. The designer is known for her K-pop connections, counting rapper G-dragon and former 2NE1 member CL among her circle of friends.

As part of the collaboration, KYE reinterprets Onitsuka Tiger&rsquo;s tennis-inspired GSM sneaker (which stands for &ldquo;Game, Set, Match&rdquo;), rendering it in black and white to represent the duality of night and day. The design is accented by contrasting white stitching, with a silver zipper instead of laces, rounded off with a classic gum outsole.

The celestial theme continues with the relaxed and roomy tracksuit. The KYE version features a large white star emblazoned on a black background, given a sporty flair with red and white piping on the sides. For the track top, an original KYE charm is combined with a pull tab engraved with the Onitsuka Tiger logo. Take a closer look below:

The Onitsuka Tiger x KYE collection will be available from October 21 at the Takashimaya and Jewel Changi Airport boutiques, as well as online at <a href="https://www.onitsukatiger.com/sg/en-sg">onitsukatiger.com</a>
