What a memorable event! The 2020 edition of the Video Music Awards (VMA) will certainly go&nbsp;down in history! Much&nbsp;different from the big events that we are used to watching, the VMAs makes for the first major awards broadcast to air since the pandemic hit the United States, and consisted of a hybrid programme of video acceptances and performances with no audiences.

It also took the time to address the unfamiliar times we are living in:&nbsp;Keke Palmer,&nbsp;as host, kicked off the ceremony honouring Black Panther star&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/Culture/black-panther-boseman-death">Chadwick Boseman, who died on Friday from colon cancer</a>, and addressed the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests.

The event also saw several notable open air performances, including names&nbsp;like Lady Gaga, <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/sister-act-r-b-powerduo-chloe-x-halle-are-the-faces-of-fendi-s-meandmypeekaboo-series">Chloe x Halle</a>, <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/beauty/doja-cat-mv-beauty">Doja Cat,</a>&nbsp;Ariana Grande and The Weeknd&nbsp;who delighted the audience with their acts&nbsp;and boldness of their visuals. Many of the performances were pre-recorded to maintain greater security, including that of BTS , the K-Pop group that won the &ldquo;Best Pop&rdquo; and &ldquo;Group of the Year&rdquo; awards.

Even without a live audience, the stars did not disappoint, with crazy costumes and pre-show emsembles that have become so synonymous with the VMAs.&nbsp;Lady Gaga, for instance, dominated both&nbsp;the awards and the red carpets, with nine different outfit changes in one night. Lady Gaga channels the VMA&#39;s Moon Person here, in a silver jacket by Area, a clear helmet by Muscarella, and black platform boots by Pleasers.

Then, Iris van Herpen was the Chromatica star&#39;s&nbsp;choice to bringing a bold, optical&nbsp;effect with her look, typical of the Dutch designer.

Her voluminous green Christoper John Rogers dress came with an edge with the Lance V Moore mask, but it was truly the Valentino Couture&nbsp;silver-feathered white look was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the night.

Miley Cyrus stunned in this&nbsp;translucent,&nbsp;sheer and shimmering&nbsp;Mugler dress.
