All aged to 13 years, this new range of Scotch whisky comes in flavours that are both luxurious and decadent.


For the longest time, blended whiskey was all about delivering consistency. Chivas, however, is looking to change that, moving away from just age and consistency to create new expressions by adding cask finishing to the conversation.

The freshly launched Chivas Extra 13 collection is a special series of four 13-year-old whiskies that explores different cask types in blends. What sets these blends apart is its inspiration for this collection &ndash; pioneering whisky blenders and founding brothers James and John Chivas who imported rums and exotic ingredients from across the globe to create unique blends that you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere.

A celebration of that boldness and unique spirit, this collection &ndash; which comes in flavours Oloroso sherry, American rye, rum and tequila &ndash; the last two which are not available in Singapore yet, certainly pushes the envelope for creating fresh new flavours. Surely, this assemblage has checked all the boxes.

Oloroso Sherry

Lending a more robust flavour to Chivas&rsquo; Regal 12 Years Old, the additional maturation of this whisky adds a richer, more robust texture to the mix. It releases a saccharine scent upon opening, with &nbsp;whiffs of ripened pears, caramel and cinnamon. On the palate, the sweetness opens with vanilla sugar before finishing with hints of almond. This whisky makes for an ideal blend for a nightcap, red meat or desserts.

American Rye

Using American Rye casks, this whisky obtains the rye whiskey&rsquo;s characteristic peppery spiciness and vanilla sweetness to open up with sweet notes of juicy orange, spun sugar and tinned peaches, with mellow notes of honey and milk chocolate with a smooth and soft finish. This whiskey makes for an ideal blend for chicken and chocolate dessert.

Of course, with such a bold collection, its design has to be equally envelope-pushing. Renowned American street artist Greg Gossel was commissioned to design the packaging, taking a fresh approach by blending images from Chivas&#39; rich history with contemporary design&nbsp;as celebation of the cask&#39;s vibrant heritage.&nbsp;
