You know what they say &mdash; cleanliness is close to godliness.

There&rsquo;s nothing quite like coming home after a long day at work to a clean and cosy space. But when we think of cleanliness, we often overlook one crucial thing: the very air we breathe.
I&rsquo;ll be honest &mdash; I never gave much thought to the air around me. I&rsquo;ve always focused on keeping my home tidy and comfortable, but air purification wasn&rsquo;t even on my radar until recently. Here&rsquo;s my pure, unfiltered experience (pun intended).

City Living and Invisible Pollution

For anyone living in the city, the air we breathe often isn&rsquo;t as clean as we think. I feel more energised, more clear-headed, just by breathing it in. It&rsquo;s something I didn&rsquo;t truly appreciate until I realised how different city air really is.

A Small Machine That Makes a Big Difference

Back home, despite having pets (and the occasional friend who smokes), I&rsquo;d never thought to invest in an air purifier. That is, until I tried Dyson&rsquo;s latest addition, the Dyson HushJet&trade; Purifier Compact.
It&rsquo;s a small-format purifier that delivers whole-room purification while remaining impressively quiet. For me, it ticks all the boxes.
One of the main issues people have with purifiers is that they&rsquo;re often bulky and noisy. The HushJet completely changes that. Dyson&rsquo;s new HushJet&trade; Nozzle is the next evolution in their iconic Air Multiplier&trade; technology &mdash; designed to smooth high-speed airflow, minimise turbulence, and dramatically reduce noise.
Whereas some compact purifiers can be as loud as 60 dB, the HushJet sits at just 44 dB at full flow and a whisper-quiet 24 dB in Sleep Mode&nbsp;and it&rsquo;s almost twice as powerful. Despite being a third the size of Dyson&rsquo;s Big+Quiet purifier, it still delivers 80% of its purification capacity, making it perfect for bedrooms, workspaces, or anywhere you need calm and clean air.
As James Dyson himself puts it: &ldquo;We have developed a way to smooth high-speed airflow to minimise turbulence and reduce aerodynamic noise, allowing the Dyson HushJet to deliver very high-volume airflow while generating minimal noise. At only 24 dB in Sleep Mode, it&rsquo;s incredibly quiet. We have transformed the compact purifier, creating our most efficient small-format machine yet which captures 99.97% of pollutants as small as 0.3 microns.&rdquo;

A Breath of Fresh Air

The HEPA Electrostatic Particulate Filter is another standout feature &mdash; capturing 99.95% of pollutants as small as 0.1 microns, including dust, pollen, allergens, and even certain bacteria and viruses. Its fully sealed filtration system ensures those pollutants stay locked inside.
As a pet owner who&rsquo;s sensitive to cat hair and dust, this made a noticeable difference. With the HushJet running, I don&rsquo;t sneeze as much, my nose doesn&rsquo;t get stuffy, and my eyes aren&rsquo;t as watery. I honestly didn&rsquo;t realise how much I was putting up with before. The filter lasts for five years, too, so I won&rsquo;t be thinking about replacements anytime soon.

Smart Tech That Does the Thinking for You

The Auto Mode is a life-saver. It automatically detects and reacts to particles between PM2.5 and PM10, and you can literally hear it start working harder when the air quality dips. I see it most when I&rsquo;m cooking &mdash; the HushJet senses the change almost instantly and revs up to clean the air.
You can monitor air quality in real-time on the LED screen, or dive into more detail through the Dyson app, which also allows you to customise the purifier&rsquo;s settings. Personally, Auto Mode works like a dream &mdash; but if you prefer to be hands-on, the control is right there.
While it doesn&rsquo;t completely remove odours, the improved airflow helps them dissipate much faster, making the room feel fresher overall.

Compact, Light, and Designed to Blend In

Weighing just 3.15 kg, the HushJet is light enough to move from room to room with ease. It&rsquo;s sleek and modern, with a subtle design that blends effortlessly into any space. Available in black and white, it&rsquo;s simple yet stylish. Though, knowing Dyson, I wouldn&rsquo;t be surprised if more colours are added in future.
If I could make one suggestion, it would be to offer interchangeable colour options for the translucent top section. It would be a nice touch for those who like their tech to match their d&eacute;cor.

My Verdict

After using the Dyson HushJet&trade; Purifier Compact, I can honestly say it&rsquo;s changed the way I think about clean air. My home feels fresher, there&rsquo;s less dust, and I sleep noticeably better at night. It&rsquo;s powerful, quiet, and beautifully designed &mdash; everything you&rsquo;d want in a purifier.
For anyone living in the city, sharing a home with pets, or simply wanting to breathe cleaner, healthier air, the Dyson HushJet&trade; Purifier Compact is an absolute win.
Because when the air is clean, everything feels better.
