Saint Laurent has unveiled a new exhibition, Dark Shadows, at its Rive Droite boutique in Paris, featuring a selection of art and photography curated by Anthony Vaccarello

When Yves Saint Laurent decided to &ldquo;democratise&rdquo; his eponymous couture house in the 1960s, he launched Rive Gauche, a more affordable line housed in a boutique on the left bank of the River Seine (hence the name). In that same spirit, earlier this year Saint Laurent opened two concept stores in Paris and Los Angeles, dubbed Rive Droite, as new retail destinations for art and culture.

The brainchild of creative director Anthony Vaccarello, Rive Droite carries virtually anything you can think of, from ready-to-wear and accessories to furniture, books, vinyl, art, and novelty collectibles like tennis racquets, arcade machines, and even condoms. The latest to join the lineup in Paris is a special exhibition, called Dark Shadows.

The exhibition brings together a selection of artworks, sculptures, and photographs, entirely curated by Vaccarello. In parallel with Foire Internationale d&rsquo;Art Contemporain, the exhibition showcases pieces like a set of black-and-white polaroids by Robert Mapplethorpe, a painting by Ed Ruscha, and sculptures signed by Lucio Fontana and Sterling Ruby. Whether you&rsquo;re a dilettante or not, this is one show you don&rsquo;t want to miss.
