Uni lovers look no further &ndash; there&#39;s a&nbsp;new restaurant in town dedicated to&nbsp;the&nbsp;delectable (and not to mention totally trendy)&nbsp;sea urchin. Opened by online premium sashimi and seafood&nbsp;grocer <a href="https://www.oosterbay.com/" target="_blank">Oosterbay</a>, UNI Gallery boasts one of the most extensive uni menus in Singapore.

The 40-seater is tucked&nbsp;in a&nbsp;rather nondescript corner in the basement of The Plaza,&nbsp;but&nbsp;is a vibrant space with an urban concept and&nbsp;colourful murals.&nbsp;Besides, aren&#39;t obscure locations&nbsp;are&nbsp;all the rage these days?&nbsp;

Food-wise, purists can head straight for the &agrave;&nbsp;la carte&nbsp;selection of&nbsp;fresh&nbsp;raw uni air-flown from Japan, USA, Canada every two to three days.&nbsp;These range from the typical Japanese Bafun and Murasaki uni&nbsp;to more exquisite&nbsp;varieties like the&nbsp;Japanese Higashizawa Shiro Uni and&nbsp;Japanese Hadate Shiro&nbsp;Uni. Depending on&nbsp;the time of year, seasonal uni varieties are also available.&nbsp;

Or, have the Uni Tokusen Sashimi platter, which comes&nbsp;with one&nbsp;uni sashimi and the chef&#39;s choice of&nbsp;six other types of sashimi. The suggested way to enjoy the platter is to start with the white fish, move on to the darker, red fish, followed by&nbsp;the sweet Botan shrimp and finally,&nbsp;the moreish uni.&nbsp;

To excite the palate a little more, UNI gallery also serves up uni in several creative ways. The restaurant&#39;s signature&nbsp;Uni Bomb presents&nbsp;three types of uni served three ways and finished&nbsp;with a shot of Japanese gin or sake. Each variety is paired with ingredients to enhance or create a unique balance of flavours. For example, sweet King crab meat complements the briny Canadian Aka uni.&nbsp;

Other non-traditional dishes include Uni Aglio Olio,&nbsp;Uni Oyster Shot, Uni Onsen Tamago,&nbsp;Uni Tempura and, our personal favourite,&nbsp;Uni Maki (Canadian Aka uni, Tobiko&nbsp;and tamago atop a&nbsp;snow crab and cucumber roll)&nbsp;&ndash; all sure to be crowd pleasers.

If you&#39;re going with non-uni fans, there are also the usual Japanese restaurant favourites like Chirashi Don, Cha Soba, Donburis, lots of sushi and more. &nbsp;
