At New York Fashion Week, Coach unveiled its Fall/Winter 2026 collection with a clear message: American style has no borders.

The show took place under the coffered ceilings of the Cunard Building, a neo-Renaissance landmark designed by Carr&egrave;re &amp; Hastings. In what was once the Cunard Line ticket office, models stepped into sharp, dramatic light, as though emerging from a film noir scene. The atmosphere shifted gradually, moving from muted sepia tones to full Technicolor brilliance. It was a visual metaphor for the season itself.
For Fall/Winter 2026, creative director Stuart Vevers continues to develop his vision of a youth culture that isn&rsquo;t confined by geography. While the collection draws on classic American references, it looks beyond New York and even beyond the idea of national identity. Vevers presents American fashion as a shared language, shaped by generations and countercultures. This season, he imagines a new generation setting out on its next adventure, fuelled by optimism and a desire to redefine what it means to be young and creative.
The collection moves confidently between tailored sportswear and eveningwear. Time-worn jerseys sit alongside reworked denim. The silhouettes combine the structure of the 1940s with the relaxed ease of the 1970s. Think flared trousers, A-line skirts in wool or denim, and sharply cut blazers, some turned inside out to reveal their linings. High-necked dresses nod to classic couture but are finished with a subtle grunge edge.
Evening gowns reference 1930s and 1940s Hollywood, with defined waists, strong shoulders, cut-outs and shimmering appliqu&eacute;s. They celebrate the simple pleasure of dressing up, without feeling overly formal.
The colour palette balances Coach&rsquo;s heritage tones with bold red, white and blue Americana. Dark checks and varsity-inspired shades add depth. Many ready-to-wear pieces also appear in grey, a quiet tribute to the light and shadow of old cinema.

Outerwear remains at the heart of the collection. The varsity jacket takes centre stage in leather, leather and wool, and, for the first time, full shearling. These are layered over cropped 1970s-inspired jackets with longer sleeves, and paired with pea coats, suede coats and shearling styles trimmed with faux fur collars.
Knitwear introduces three unisex jacquard designs: eagle, Fair Isle and quilted patterns, all subtly reworked for a handcrafted feel. Fitted T-shirts with varsity stripes and numbers, alongside repurposed vintage jerseys, give the collection an authentic, lived-in character.
Accessories explore sleek East-West horizontal shapes and refreshed versions of Coach&rsquo;s signature turnlock and kisslock closures. The slim Kisslock Frame bag sits neatly under the shoulder in almond and maple tones or checked wool. The Turnlock Haversack, inspired by the archives, features a deeper silhouette. A small Kisslock backpack and a soft Messenger bag also showcase the house&rsquo;s distinctive metal details.
Footwear introduces the laceless Coach Skate Sneaker, inspired by 1970s styles. Made in suede and canvas, it comes in high-top and low-top versions, both monochrome and contrasting. Signature touches include a fireman&rsquo;s clip or a dogleash carabiner.
Jewellery draws on celestial motifs, with sculptural stars, moons and suns in gold and silver tones. Signet rings in silver and tiger&rsquo;s eye hang from delicate chains, worn like modern talismans. In the dramatic setting of the Cunard Building, Coach presented more than a seasonal collection. It offered a vision of American fashion shaped by cinema, campuses, skateparks and shared memories. A style that honours its past while confidently looking ahead.
