Paris in the 1920s is a creative melting pot &ndash; one that encouraged&nbsp;strong and interesting women to shine. Which is why the romantic city, along with three of its heroines, was chosen as Kate Spade New York&rsquo;s inspiration for fall.

First, there&rsquo;s Louis Brooks, the quintessential flapper. Then, le coquelicot (the poppy) in French, a famous painting by Kees Van Dongen of a mysterious woman known for her bold beauty. Finally, Josephine Baker, a global jazz age icon and an American who followed her dreams to Paris.

So did Josephine Baker ever return to America? We&rsquo;re not sure, but Fernanda Ly sure did. In the Fall 17 film, Fernanda Ly stops at a classic New York diner for steak frites, with her vintage finds and cats in tow. She sits at the diner counter while French music plays in the background; she dances and everyone joins in, creating an iconic New York City moment of joy for herself and everyone around.
