Gender neutral clothing has increasingly been placed at the forefront this year. Louis Vuitton recently came up with a gender neutral Spring/Summer 2021 collection, and an increasing amount of luxury houses, such as Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney, have come up with their own <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/is-gender-neutral-fashion-the-future-here-are-the-brands-to-know-now">polysexual and unisex collection </a>respectively.

But perhaps there can be no luxury label as future forward with gender inclusivity&nbsp;as with Alessandro Michele&#39;s Gucci. The Italian fashion house, known for its vintage, magpie-like ensembles has unveiled an orange tartan dress for men, retailing&nbsp;for approx S$3,530&nbsp;in the hopes to&nbsp;&ldquo;disrupt the toxic stereotypes that mold masculine gender identity.&rdquo;

Featuring a peter pan collar, mother of pearl buttons, satin bow detail and &quot;smock embrodery&quot; the smock shirt is replete with stereotypically &#39;feminine&#39; elements, yet targeted at a male-identifying audience. The smock is&nbsp;inspired by the grunge look from the &#39;90s and&nbsp;styled over ripped denim pants - with an emphasis on&nbsp;versatility as part of the House&#39;s celebration of individuality. This idea of gender fluidity is also a&nbsp;continuation of its Fall Winder 2020 collection.

Alongside the orange tartan dress, the label is also offering a dress for men in <a href="https://www.gucci.com/uk/en_gb/pr/women/ready-to-wear-for-women/dresses/gucci-liberty-floral-wool-long-shirt-p-633455ZAFF14459?rrec=true">liberty print.</a>

However, some users on Twitter have took to addressing the notion of exclusivity due to the high-end designer price of the item.&nbsp;&ldquo;The message that this dress is supposed to spread is just a commercial ploy to push an ordinary garment at an inadequately high price. To refute stereotypes, we do not need luxury labels, we can break them by wearing simple clothes as well.&quot;

Whatever the case, Gucci has certainly added to the increasing dialogue of gendered stereotypes in fashion and identity.&nbsp;
